Médecins Sans Frontières/Doctors Without Borders (MSF) has been present in the Central African Republic since 1997 and manages 12 projects throughout the country. In CAR, MSF provides primary and hospital health care, vaccination, maternal and child health, emergency surgery, care for people living with HIV/AIDS, mental health, emergency surveillance and response, and care for victims of sexual violence.

For better care, MSF in CAR builds and rehabilitates health facilities where necessary. In 2018, MSF provided more than one million consultations to the Central African population.
